Anup Anthony (Head Coach)
Anup Anthony, Head Coach at BGF, brings over 25 years of extensive sporting experience as a former professional player and AIFF-licensed coach. A respected figure in Indian Customs and CGST Bengaluru, Anup represented the Karnataka State Hockey Team for 14 years (1997–2010), serving as captain from 2008 to 2010 across Senior Nationals and National Games. His playing career is marked by notable international and domestic success, including representing the Indian National Team in winning efforts at the Akbar El Yom tournaments in Egypt (2001, 2002) and the Samaranch Cup in Moscow (2001). His career also features participation in prestigious Indian Hockey Camps, playing internationally for Racing De Club in France (2010–2011), and competing for the Mumbai Marines in the inaugural World Series Hockey League (2012).
Deeply committed to youth development, Anup uses his wealth of experience and innovative training techniques to identify talent and mentor emerging athletes. With his strong background in player development and a keen eye for potential, he plays a crucial role in shaping the future stars of BGF and driving the club’s athletic excellence.

Dr. Anthony S.L. (Coach)
Dr. Anthony S.L. is a distinguished sports icon and multi-talented leader who has represented Karnataka across some of the country’s most prestigious football tournaments, including the Senior Nationals, Santosh Trophy, Federation Cup, and Rovers Cup. Beyond his football career, Dr. Anthony has achieved international acclaim in athletics, representing India on the world stage at four Asian Masters Athletic Meets and two World Championships in events such as the Long Jump and Relay, ultimately securing eight international medals.
Adding to his extraordinary versatility, Dr. Anthony holds a Guinness World Record as a Music Director for his contribution to Konkani Niranthari. Today, he continues to shape the future of sports governance in the region, serving as the Chairman of the Bangalore District Football Association and as a Governing Board Member of the Karnataka State Football Association.

Charles D'Souza (Coach)
Charles D’Souza is an accomplished multi-sport athlete and certified AIFF (All India Football Federation) coach making a significant mark on the sports community in Bengaluru. A versatile player on both attack and defense, Charles represented the Karnataka State Hockey Team at the national level for over a decade and spent more than ten years competing for the Indian Customs team in national-level hockey championships. Parallel to his hockey achievements, he demonstrated remarkable consistency on the pitch, playing for Konkan FC for 12 years in the BDFA State Football League.
Bringing decades of high-level competitive experience to his coaching role at BGF Sporting Club Bengaluru, Charles is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of football talent. As an AIFF-certified coach, he combines technical expertise with a strong emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and discipline both on and off the field. His dedication to player development and deep passion for the game make him a respected leader, inspiring role model, and vital asset to the club.

Charles D'Souza (Coach)
Coach Lawrence is a legendary Karnataka and HAL football player and an AIFF-certified coach who brings a exceptional legacy of top-tier football experience to BGF Sporting Club. A mainstay in Indian football, he represented the Karnataka State Senior Football Team six times in the Santosh Trophy Nationals and captained Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) Seniors Football Club for 15 years (1984–1998). Throughout his illustrious playing career, he competed in the country’s most prestigious tournaments—including the Federation Cup, Rovers Cup, Durand Cup, and IFA Shield—highlighted by leading HAL to George Hoover Cup League titles in 1984 and 1998, as well as a historic Stafford Challenge runner-up finish against the Iraq Olympic Team.
Today, Coach Lawrence continues his passion for the sport as an active member of Karnataka’s Veteran Football Team and a dedicated youth mentor at BGF’s Ball Park Central venue. As an AIFF-certified coach, his vast knowledge, tactical expertise, and leadership are invaluable assets to the club, playing a crucial role in developing young talent and guiding the next generation of players to reach greater heights.
